About The Third Teacher
100 languages. 100 rooms. 100 invitations.
The third teacher refers to the belief that the environment plays an important role in how children learn, explore, and make meaning of the world.
Inspired by the hundred languages of children, this little digital world is my growing collection of invitations to play, experiment, imagine, and discover. My hope is to create 100 rooms, each offering its own possibilities.
I spent years as an early childhood educator creating invitations for children to explore. I witnessed children make connections and turn the most ordinary objects into entire imaginary worlds. Each room is an homage to those years and the joy and wonder of play.
This little world is my personal love letter to the children who taught me to see the extraordinary in ordinary things, and to the belief that there are a hundred ways to explore the world, if only we make room for them.
